Judith van den Boom is Course Leader of the MA Regenerative Design (MARD) at Central Saint Martins, UAL, focusing on building regenerative communities and place-based practices where designers work within communities to support a thriving more-than-human world. Through her research, Judith contributes to regenerative practices by building “living systems partnerships,” that deepen our understanding of the 'living' within living systems. Judith brings years of international experience as a lecturer and designer, working with partners around the world. With a strong focus on collaboration, she fosters connections between people, places, species, and disciplines to advance regenerative practice, particularly at the intersection of ecology and design. She co-founded UFƟ (Unidentified Facility), a group that investigates future ecologies and phenomena, and is part of Bio-Leadership Fellowship, addressing nature-led leadership. Together with Dr Barbara Smith, she developed Ecosystem Alliance, a space for bringing ecologists and designers together to advance methods and approaches for biodiversity restoration while building deep, situated pedagogy and community.
