Why We Created a Patreon (And Why the Content Will Always Be Free)

One of the things that drives BOUNCE is a deep belief that the conversations happening at the edges of our industry, the messy ones, the honest ones, the ones about process and doubt and what it actually means to work as a designer in Ireland right now, should be available to everyone. Not just those who can afford a subscription, a conference ticket, or a glossy membership.

So when we decided to launch a Patreon, we made a commitment: all BOUNCE content stays free. Full stop. We are not gatekeepers. We are a community platform, and community doesn't work behind a paywall.

‍So why Patreon at all?

Because making good content takes time, care, and resource. The Rough Drafts podcast, the blog, the Resources and Case Studies we're building, none of it happens without people putting real hours in. Patreon gives us a way to grow that catalogue sustainably, without chasing sponsorship that pulls us away from our values, and without compromising the independence that makes BOUNCE, BOUNCE.‍

We're running on an honesty system. If you can afford to contribute a little (even €5 or €10 a month) we'd be genuinely grateful. In return, paid supporters get access to discounts and perks across the BOUNCE ecosystem (see what's available on our Patreon page).

If you can't afford to pay right now, please subscribe for free and enjoy everything without guilt. Seriously. That's the whole point!

And if you can contribute, know that every euro goes directly into making more of the content you're already getting for nothing. That feels like a fair deal to us.
